Tesla launched his electric truck and a new sports cart with amazing capabilities

You will often hear automakers brag about the verve of their sports cars to reach from zero to 100 km/h, but less often talk about performance for a big truck. On Thursday night, Tesla bragged about both.

Tesla revealed a completely new version of his Roadster sports car that can go from zero to 96.5 km/h in 1.9 seconds, a figure that would make it the car that produces the fastest acceleration.

That was after Tesla presented his new truck, the Semi Tesla, which the general manager, Elon Musk, said he can go from zero to 96.5 km/h in five seconds with an empty trailer. That's a figure usually associated with luxury sedans, not big trucks.
With a full load, the Semi Tesla can still reach that speed in 20 seconds, according to Musk, much faster than any diesel-powered truck.

Only after talking about the speed of the truck, Musk mentioned his reach. You can travel up to 804 miles with a full charge of your batteries at freeway speeds, he said.

That's more than double the distance from most transportation routes, said Musk, allowing a driver to make a round trip before reloading. A version of the Tesla Semi capable of traversing 482 kilometers without having to refuel will also be available.
But truckers can still have some reservations.

Beyond whether Musk is right about the typical length of truck routes, 804 km is still much less than what diesel trucks can travel. And diesel fuel tanks can be refilled much faster than batteries can be recharged.

The Roadster will have an autonomy of 997 kilometers and can reach a maximum speed of more than 400 km/h per hour. That would put it, at least, close to the maximum speed of 420 km/h that can reach the Bugatti Chiron of $3 million dollars, according to their manufacturers.
